The Highlands

Located on the edge of Ngorongoro forest area, the tented lodge encircles Olmoti volcano. The dome shaped tents made of glass and canvas are inspired by traditional Maasai bomas and are unique in their setting. There is a library at the heart of the camp. It has an indoor fireplace where you can relax and enjoy a pre-dinner drink as you share the stories of the day.

In addition to park fees of Ngorongoro national park, a statutory fees (Camping fees) of $70.8 per person per night will be applicable for staying at this accommodation.

Located at a distance of 40 km from the crater, the property's location is ideal for convenient access to half day excursions. You may descend down into the Empakaai crater and hike to Lake Natron as well.

Lake Manyara airstrip is a 3 hour drive from the camp.

There are 8 tents which include a family tent havin a separate room for children and an exceptional honeymoon tent with a bathtub. 2 triples are also available if requested.

There are luxurious glass and canvas domes with wonderful views. There is a clean, comfortable king-size bed, en-suite bathroom with a toilet and shower, wood burning stove, floor to ceiling glass windows and a private deck that curves around the dome.

The tented lodge offers amazing views of the surrounding lush green forest. You can take a day hike along a beautiful trail to see the crater below. You can also catch a glimpse of the Maasai village down below. The vast panoramic sunrise/sunset views are much loved by the guests. It extends across the horizon right up to Serengeti. Since the domes are made of floor to ceiling glass windows, you will get wide views of the starlit night sky. In addition, the private deck is a great place to relax while being surrounded by all this beauty.

Moderate - You are still in the wilderness but the amount of wildlife around the camp is not quite high and you might not get to hear them through the night on all days.
