Satao Camp

Set up in a unique setting of about 5000 acres of private conservation area, Satao Elerai Camp looks down upon Ambroselli National Park on one side and Mt. Kilimanjaro on the other. Started as a community project through the joint efforts of The African Wildlife Foundation, Elerai Camp and the Elerai community, it aims at protecting the Maasai in the region while also encouraging them to care for the indigenous species for generations to come. They are offered a sustainable source of income from the tourism industry. The property offers delicious la carte meals prepared from locally produced vegetables. For rejuvenation, there is a swimming pool and lounge.

Located in a private conservation area 12 km south-east of Ambroselli National Park.

Amboseli airport is 55 minutes drive away.

The Deluxe Tents and Cottage Rooms offer large comfortable beds with huge duvets to enable proper REM sleep at night. There is an en-suite bathroom designed using acacia wood and natural rock to resonate a natural setting. The Cottage Rooms have huge sliding doors opening into a private veranda.

Single, double and triple rooms are available.

The tented lodge offers wonderful views of the great African plains below. You may catch glimpses of Mt. Kilimanjaro at a distance. You might also find wild animals such as giraffes, zebras, elephants and wildebeests around the camp. The view of the nearby waterhole from the swimming pool area is spectacular.

Good - You are in the middle of wilderness and have wildlife coming very close to camp and you might get to see wildlife from your rooms/campgrounds and most likely you can hear wildlife through the night.
