Burunge Tented Lodge

Burunge Tented Lodge in the outskirts of Tarangire national park is perched on wooden stilts overlooking Lake Burunge, along an elevated ridge 1,000 ft above sea level, offering beautiful views of the sunset and wildlife in the surrounding bushes. The restaurant is placed in an outdoor setting overlooking the lake. There is also an infinity pool for rejuvenation.

In addition to park fees of Tarangire national park, a statutory fees (WMA fees) of $29.5 per person per night will be applicable for staying at this accommodation.

Located in a Wildlife Management Area outside the edges of Tarangire National Park. Tarangire entry gate is around 45 minutes drive and the nearest airstrip (Kuro airstrip) is around 3 hours 15 minutes drive from the lodge.

Standard Room

Overlooking the lake, there are 18 standard rooms with double or twin beds. It has an aesthetic decor with en suite facilities and furniture, plus a verandah with a good, open view.

Family Room

A total of 6 family rooms with 2 interconnected rooms. Rooms have veranda, furniture and en suite facilities.

20 tented rooms and 10 bungalow rooms, consisting of 6 Family Rooms accommodating 4-5 guests (2 rooms being interconnected) and 12 standard rooms with double, twin beds accommodating 2-3 guests each.

Balcony and the campgrounds offer amazing views of the river as well as the sunrise/ sunsets. Also, from the restaurant stands it’s possible to watch the lakeshore where wild animals such as dik-diks, antelopes, baboons, warthogs, elephants, zebras, etc are expected to come drink water during dry season.

Good - The lodge is in the middle of wilderness and has wildlife coming very close to camp sometimes and guests might get to see wildlife from the rooms/ campgrounds and most likely can hear wildlife through the night.

Most clients have given good reviews on the food being served. The buffets are healthy and simple. You have choices like fresh juices, pastries, omelets and pancakes for breakfast. You can pick items and create your own lunch bag from the available options at restaurant. There is also a good choice of menu available for dinner.
