Ngulia Safari Lodge

Owned by Kenya Safari Lodges & Hotels Ltd (KSLH), Ngulia Safari Lodge was established on May 22, 1969. Located on the brink of Ndawe escarpment inside Tsavo West National Park, this rustic lodge is best for team building activities, retreats and educational getaway.

The restaurant here has been built in open-air style with a wide view of the nearby floodlit waterhole. However, it is on the verge of drying up as per recent reviews. The Leopard View Bar opens during evening time, allowing you to watch the leopards pursue a good game and get a glimpse of various species of birds caught through a big binocular installed for this purpose (over Rhino Sanctuary). A stumbling block; some members of the kitchen staff are seen feeding the leopards. Please note that one of the basic fundamental rules of any national park is to not encourage or engage in such practices! Nyati Bar has a good stock of alcoholic beverages from all over the world, with a side of dishes prepared from seasonal organic ingredients.

The conferencing facilities include a technical team and a coordinator who efficiently tailor-make events and invite you to consider the various options available. Up to 30 guests can be accommodated here.

Other highlights of the property include a massage parlour and swimming pool, both are great for a rejuvenating experience. An important feature is the availability of forex exchange for a hassle-free journey.

You may consider the lodge for a good game viewing experience (those in par with the fundamentals) as Tsavo West is rightfully known for one in a diligent circle. However, it is in grave need of renovations and proper administration with regards to the maintenance of guest rooms.

Located inside Tsavo West National Park, the lodge is only an hour’s drive away from Mtito Andei KWS gate.

There are a total of 52 rooms with a work station, lounge area, balcony, wifi, hair dryer, 240 V/220 V shaver socket, complimentary toiletries and mineral water. You can have a safety deposit box, fridge, tea/coffee making facilities on request.

The property offers amazing views over a watering hole which is often visited by wild animals such as buffalos, elephants and leopards. You can make use of the giant binocular in Leopard View Bar to get a clear view over Rhino Sanctuary.

Good - You are in the middle of wilderness and have wildlife coming very close to camp and you might get to see wildlife from your rooms/campgrounds and most likely you can hear wildlife through the night.
