Elewana Elsa's Kopje

Located inside Meru National Park, the lodge has been carved amidst the rocks of Mughwango Hill. Having won an award for the ‘Best Safari Property in Africa’, this boutique lodge is known for its elegance and environment friendly practices. Elsa’s Kopje is known to have single handedly rescued the park from being converted into paddy fields as it received very little attention from tourists earlier. A vast area of 215,000 acres, it is now visited for its vast diversity (as compared to any other parks in East Africa) of wildlife species. Other than the spacious guest rooms, there is a restaurant overlooking an outdoor swimming pool which looks more enchanting with the night lamps on. The main area takes you through a small wooden pathway and onto the various rooms inside the lodge. It will interest you to know that Elsa’s is the location where Joy Adamson raised and released orphaned lions and lionesses such as Elsa and wrote the book ‘Born Free’, way before the idea of conservation was idealized.

Located inside Meru National Park in the central region, Mulika Lodge is the nearest airport at a distance of 15 minutes drive.

These open fronted Safari style cottages provide clean and comfortable beds, en-suite bathrooms and an outdoor deck to enjoy the surrounding views. Cottage number 3 is an exception as it has a private seating area rather than a deck.

There are 6 cottages divided into the following categories:

Family Cottage: Family cottages have two bedrooms with a twin room and double room. There is a spacious living room, en-suite bathrooms, bath outside the master bedroom plus a large private deck.

Honeymoon Cottage: There are a total of 3 Honeymoon cottages. Out of these, 2 have outdoor baths and 1 suite features three levels inclusive of a main bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a sitting room and a private deck.

Private House The Private house includes a master bedroom having a dressing area, a twin room, a seating area, large dining area, a private garden and an infinity pool.

In total, there is one twin/double room and five double rooms.

Family Cottage: It has a double room and twin room.

Honeymoon Cottage: These feature double beds. Two of these cottages provide an extra bed for children under 16 years of age.

Private House: It features a double bed and twin bed. For children under the age of 16 years, it can fit two extra beds.

The cottages offer vast views of Meru plains. The restaurant overlooks the infinity pool.

None - This accommodation is not in the wilderness so do not expect to see/hear any wildlife during your time at this place.
