The Retreat at Ngorongoro

Located amidst 30 acres of green land in Karatu, the lodge has been designed with a bird theme such that nature is integrated into its development. There is a Nest Lounge in the form of a bird’s nest where you may relax and enjoy a glass of cocktail while indulging in a game of billiards or several board games. The Kipepeo restaurant (meaning butterfly in Swahili) offers sumptuous meals which can be enjoyed indoors or outdoors in an open deck while taking in your peaceful surroundings. Other facilities include a conference room and gym.

Just 15 minutes away from the main Karatu region, the lodge is just 11 miles to Lake Manyara airport.

Single/Double Cottage There are 4 cottages with a clean comfortable king-size bed, mosquito net, dressing table, writing desk, reading lights, window screens, telephone, fireplace, tea/coffee making facilities, Wi-Fi, en-suite bathroom with shower, closet space, deck with lounge and coffee table to view the beautiful flora and fauna outside.

Twin Cottages There are 21 twin cottages with a king-size bed and a queen with all the key features described for a single/double cottage.

Interconnected Cottages There are 4 cottages with two king beds and a queen bed with all the key features described for a single/double cottage.

2 Bedroom Cottages This is used by couples as well as families for its extra privacy and living space. It has a king bed in each room. The sofa in the living room can be converted into a bed for children under the age of 12. The deck overlooks Ngorongoro forest.

Single/Double Cottages These are for 1-2 guests.

Twin Cottages These are for a maximum of four guests (2 adults and 2 children under the age of 12).

Interconnected Cottages These are for a maximum of 6 guests (4 adults and 2 children under the age of 12).

2 Bedroom Cottages This is convenient for a maximum of 4 guests (2 couples). If we count the sofa in the living room, it can be used by upto 6 guests.

The lodge offers amazing views of the Ngorongoro forest area. The property itself is adorned with beautiful flowers and plants.

None - This accommodation is not in the wilderness so do not expect to see/hear any wildlife during your time at this place. You may however enjoy the beauty of the farmlands and the chirping birds that may visit the accommodation.
