This itinerary includes Mikumi National Park(3N), often called a mini-Serengeti, known for easy-access game drives with lions, giraffes, and buffalo; Ruaha National Park(2N), celebrated for its rugged landscapes, high density of lions, and rare sightings of wild dogs and sable antelope; and Udzungwa Mountains, unique for rainforest treks and sightings of endemic primates, before returning back to Dar es Salaam.


Short Itinerary

Day 1 (May 01, 2026) - Dar es Salaam to Mikumi. Afternoon game drives.

Day 2 (May 02, 2026) - Mikumi to Udzungwa Mountains National Park. Hike to Sanje waterfalls(3-4 hours).

Day 3 (May 03, 2026) - Udzungwa to Ruaha

Day 4 (May 04, 2026) - Ruaha. Full-day game drives.

Day 5 (May 05, 2026) - Ruaha (Walking tour - 3 to 4 hours) and transfer to Mikumi

Day 6 (May 06, 2026) - Morning game drives at Mikumi and transfer to Dar Es Salaam

Itinerary

Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Mikumi. Afternoon game drives.

Depart Dar es Salaam for Mikumi National Park, renowned for its diverse wildlife including elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and more. Look out for the majestic greater Kudu, graceful wildebeest, and elusive leopards. The park is also home to tree-climbing lions, wild hunting dogs, and black-backed jackals. Enjoy a thrilling game drive upon arrival, soaking in the beauty of the savannah until sunset. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Mikumi to Udzungwa Mountains National Park. Hike to Sanje waterfalls(3-4 hours).

Mikumi to Udzungwa mountains. Hike to the Sanje Waterfalls, the highest waterfall in the Udzungwa mountains. Take a refreshing dip in the pools of the waterfalls and lookout for birds and animals in this unique wild habitat. Baboons and vervet monkeys are often seen and encounter of amphibians, birds might be possible. Stay at Udzungwa.

Day 3: Udzungwa to Ruaha.

After breakfast start the journey to Ruaha National Park. Arrive and stay at Ruaha.

Day 4: Ruaha. Full-day game drives.

After breakfast you will have full day game drive to explore the beautiful of the park, with its full of rocky, kopjes and ancient baobab trees.

Day 5: Ruaha (Walking Tour - 3 to 4 hours) and transfer to Mikumi.

A walking tour in Ruaha National Park offers a unique and immersive experience in Tanzania's largest national park. Unlike traditional game drives, where you observe wildlife from the comfort of a vehicle, a walking safari allows you to explore the bush on foot, accompanied by a trained and knowledgeable guide.
During the walking tour, you'll have the opportunity to appreciate the smaller details of the ecosystem, such as animal tracks, bird calls, and the diverse plant life. Your guide will provide insights into the park's ecology, animal behavior, and conservation efforts, offering a deeper understanding of the natural world. Transfer to Mikumi and stay at Mikumi.
