Itinerary
Day 1 - Nairobi to Lake Nakuru. Afternoon Game Drives in Lake Nakuru
Your adventure begins with a morning pick up between 7:00 and 8:00 from your Nairobi hotel or from the airport. You will then travel to Lake Nakuru, a beautiful journey that takes about 3.5 to 4 hours.
On arrival, you will check in at your hotel in Nakuru town and enjoy lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park. The park has 4 out of the Big 5 animals except elephants. It is especially known for rhino sightings, pelicans and other interesting birdlife. The game drive continues until around 6:00 in the evening.
After the safari, return to the hotel to relax and have dinner before settling in for the night.
Day 2 - Transfer from Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara for Afternoon Game Drives
Begin your day with breakfast and depart around 7:30 to 8:00 in the morning for Masai Mara. The drive takes about 5 to 5.5 hours. On the way, other travelers may join the group at Narok around 10:00 to 10:30. You will arrive in Masai Mara shortly after noon and check in at your lodge or camp. Enjoy a hot lunch and then head out for an afternoon game drive in the reserve.
After the safari, return to your lodge or camp by around 6:00 in the evening to relax and have dinner, and for overnight stay.
Note: The last 1 hour of the road to Masai Mara is bumpy and may not be comfortable for travelers with back issues.
Day 3 - Full day game drives in Masai Mara
Start the day early with a game drive at 6:00 am. This is one of the best times to spot wildlife and you may even get a chance to witness a hunt. Masai Mara is known for the Big 5 sightings and its wide savannah landscapes. Rhino encounters are rare here but the reserve is still full of unforgettable wildlife moments.
After the morning drive, return to your accommodation for breakfast and relax for a while. Later, head out again for a full afternoon game drive with a packed lunch. You will stop at a scenic picnic spot to enjoy your meal before continuing your safari until the park closes.
If you are traveling between the second half of July and the first half of September, you may get the chance to witness the Great Wildebeest Migration, one of nature’s most dramatic events.
Return to your lodge or camp around 6:00 pm for dinner and an overnight stay in Masai Mara.
Day 4 - Transfer from Masai Mara to Lake Naivasha for Crescent Island tour
After breakfast, check out from your Masai Mara accommodation and depart around 7:30 am for Lake Naivasha. The drive takes about 5 hours. On the way, other travelers may join the group at Mai Mahiu around 12:00 pm. Upon arrival in Naivasha, check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch before continuing with the afternoon activities.
In the afternoon, take a boat ride on Lake Naivasha to reach Crescent Island. The ride takes around 30 minutes each way. You will then enjoy a walking tour on the island for about 1 hour, where you can see wildlife roaming freely in a peaceful setting.
Return to your accommodation in the evening for dinner and an overnight stay in Naivasha.
Day 5 - Transfer from Lake Naivasha to Nairobi
After breakfast, depart from Lake Naivasha around 07:00 and drive to Nairobi, arriving in Naiorbi at approximately 09:30 with about 2.5 hrs drive. After this you will be dropped off either at your hotel or airport in Nairobi, marking the end of your safari
