This itinerary includes Kibale National Park (2N), the top destination for chimpanzee trekking and tracking over a dozen other primate species, where you'll enjoy Chimpanzee Tracking and a Bigodi Swamp Walk; Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (1N), world-renowned for unforgettable mountain gorilla trekking in a dense rainforest setting, where you'll enjoy gorilla tracking and a Batwa Cultural Visit; and Lake Bunyonyi (2N), famous for its breathtaking scenery in a relaxing setting, where you'll enjoy an Island Exploration Boat Cruise, before transferring back to Kampala.

Short Itinerary

Day 1 (July 31, 2026) - Kampala to Kibale National Park

Day 2 (August 01, 2026) - Kibale National Park (Chimp Tracking & Bigodi Swamp Walk)

Day 3 (August 02, 2026) - Kibale National Park to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Batwa Cultural Visit)

Day 4 (August 03, 2026) - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Gorilla Tracking) to Lake Bunyonyi

Day 5 (August 04, 2026) - Lake Bunyonyi (Island Exploration Boar Cruise)

Day 6 (August 05, 2026) - Lake Bunyonyi to Kampala

  • Clients can choose to do Community Walk, Canoe Ride, Bicycle Ride, Bird Watching, Cray Fishing or any other activity in Lake Bunyonyi by paying additionally at the accommodation.

Weather Information

Kibale

In July, Kibale, Uganda typically experiences a cool and dry climate. Historical averages indicate that temperatures generally range from about 14°C (57°F) at night to around 25°C (77°F) during the day. Rainfall is relatively low compared to other months, but occasional showers can still occur. Humidity levels are moderate, making it a comfortable time for outdoor activities and wildlife viewing in the nearby Kibale National Park. Overall, July is considered one of the drier months in Kibale.

Lake Bunyonyi

In July, Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda typically experiences mild and pleasant weather. Historical averages indicate that daytime temperatures range from around 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F), while nighttime temperatures can drop to about 10°C to 14°C (50°F to 57°F).

This month is part of the dry season, so rainfall is relatively low compared to other months, although occasional showers can still occur. Humidity levels are moderate, making it a comfortable time for outdoor activities and exploring the beautiful landscapes around the lake.

Day 3 (August 02, 2026) - Kibale National Park Bwindi Impenetrable National Park takes about 6 to 7.5 hours (245 to 370 km)

Day 4 (August 03, 2026) - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Lake Bunyoyni takes about 1.5 to 3 hours (65 to 100 km)

Day 5 (August 04, 2026) - No Transfers

Day 6 (August 05, 2026) - Lake Bunyonyi to Kampala takes about 7.5 to 9 hours (450 km)
