Itinerary
Dar es Salaam to Nyerere (Boat Safari in the afternoon)
Your safari kicks off in the morning as you depart from your hotel in Dar es Salaam to Nyerere National Park. Upon arrival, you will embark on a relaxing afternoon boat trip along the Rufiji River. This leisurely journey offers a chance to admire the scenic river views and observe hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species. The tranquil experience is enhanced by the beautiful sunset as you cruise along the river, creating a peaceful and serene atmosphere.
Day 2: Nyerere. Full-day game drives.
Enjoy a full-day game drive in Nyerere National Park with an experienced safari guide highlighting unique animal species such as wild dogs, sable antelopes, black rhinoceros, and more. Keep an eye out for Nile crocodiles and hippos near the Rufiji River, as well as Cape buffalos, hartebeests, and elands. Enjoy a peaceful exploration of the natural reserve during the 2-3 hour walk and transfer to Mikumi National Park with lunch on the way. Head to the accommodation for a night’s sleep at Mikumi.
Day 5: Morning game drives at Mikumi and transfer to Udzungwa mountains. Hike to Sanje waterfalls (3-4 hours)
After morning game drives in Mikumi, start the journey to Udzungwa Mountains National Park. Hike to the Sanje Waterfalls, the highest waterfall in the Udzungwa mountains.
