The Ark

Located in the heart of Aberdare National Park, The Ark encompasses three decks which are parts of various lounges and balconies. These are perfect locations for capturing the beauty of the adjoining water hole in all its entirety. Whenever there is a rare sighting, the staff notifies all its guests. Also, there are four viewing areas for similar purpose.

There is a bunker on the ground floor which has been constructed for the purpose of viewing and capturing the wild in its rawest form.

Located in the heart of Aberdare National Park, Nanyuki airport is 1 hour 20 minutes drive away.

There are five types of rooms available here.

1) Classic Single Cabin (5) Designed in East African safari style, it offers clean & comfortable single sized bed and an en-suite bathroom.

2) Classic King Cabin (13) Designed in East African safari style, it offers clean & comfortable king sized bed and an en-suite bathroom.

3) Classic Queen Cabin Designed in East African safari style, it offers clean & comfortable queen sized bed and an en-suite bathroom.

4) Classic Twin Cabin Designed in East African safari style, it offers two single sized bed and an en-suite bathroom.

5) Classic Family Cabin Designed in East African safari style, it offers three single beds and an en-suite bathroom.

Single, double and triple rooms are available.

The lodge offers spectacular views over the nearby water hole which is visited by large herds of elephants, buffaloes, hyenas, bush babies, dik diks and many more.

Good - You are in the middle of wilderness and have wildlife coming very close to camp and you might get to see wildlife from your rooms/campgrounds and most likely you can hear wildlife through the night.
