Aberdare Country Club

Set up along the slopes of Mweiga Hill in Aberdare, Aberdare Country Club used to be a private home ‘The Steep’ owned by a British couple who sold it once their children grew up and moved to different places. Now it is owned by a Bollywood star of the bygone era ‘Mumtaz’ and her beloved husband. The property still retains an old world charm and will be loved by anyone who wishes to be taken back to the 60s. However, many guest rooms are in need of proper refurbishment. Set amidst 1,300 acres of land, the club’s wildlife sanctuary is flourishing with different species of birds and animals such as elands, zebras, impalas, peacocks, giraffes and much more. These can be seen strolling through the well maintained lawn. The guests can take part in outdoor activities such as horse riding, golf and lawn tennis here. In addition, there’s the Dragon’s Teeth Aberdares; hiking trails at a distance of 3.2 km.
