Kirurumu Tarangire Lodge

Situated at the northern border of Tarangire national park, the canvas tented lodge is located in its own private land of Acacia Tortilis trees. It overlooks a rich floodplain that acts as a feeding ground for wildlife species like elephants. The evening entertainment programs by the Maasai are much loved by guests.

In addition to park fees of Tarangire national park, a statutory fees (WMA fees) of $29.5 per person per night will be applicable for staying at this accommodation.

Just outside Tarangire national park, just a 20 minutes drive from the main entrance gate.

There are a total of 10 tented cottages with 2 family rooms, 2 double rooms and 6 twin rooms.

The rooms are spacious and clean (good linen and mosquito nets) with good bathroom facilities including a shower (with hot water). The privacy quotient is good as the rooms are spaced out. There is a writing desk in every room with water bottles.

The surrounding views of rooms and dining area have been rated good by most clients. It truly feels like you are amidst the African wild. The area is surrounded by African bushes and you can see animals like elephants in the floodplain ahead which is the main highlight. You can sip a glass of wine on your veranda and catch this magnificent view.

Sometimes, you wake up to the sounds of monkeys and mongoose. The bar gives a good view of the valley and Lake Manyara.

Pathways between tents have sculptures. Dik diks can be spotted on your walk. In the evenings, you can have a campfire set up to enjoy the wilderness while sipping on beer or wine.

Good - You are in the middle of wilderness and have wildlife coming very close to camp and you might get to see wildlife from your rooms/campgrounds and most likely you can hear wildlife through the night.

The food has been found to be satisfactory by most clients.

A major highlight is the private dinner on a patio, secluded from the main dining area. You may have to inform the staff beforehand.

Pepper is grown inside the property, around solar panels that is used as an ingredient in their dishes.
