Pelican House

Originally home to a ranch manager when the conservancy started as a cattle farm more than 65 years ago, Pelican House bore witness to a deep history transcending into the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa. It has an elegant dining area, numerous reception rooms, a baronial fireplace and a long verandah wrapped around the house. Now under Serena Hotels, it has been awarded the Bravo Badge by Tripadvisor, a feat achieved after receiving an ‘excellent’ review from the 33rd guest.

With Mt Kenya in the background, the property includes two guest rooms, two master suites and a private cottage along with an outdoor dining area, barbecue and two private swimming pools.

Located inside Ol Pejeta Conservancy to its east, the house is a 35 minutes drive from Nanyuki airport.

The rooms provide clean & comfortable beddings, bedside tables and lamps, a separate seating area, a walk-in closet space and an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub.

Single, double, triple and quadruple rooms are available.

The property has a well laid out garden and is often visited by monkeys and various species of birds.

Good - You are in the middle of wilderness and have wildlife coming very close to camp and you might get to see wildlife from your rooms/campgrounds and most likely you can hear wildlife through the night.
